Armenia's Transport and Communication Minister Gagik Beglaryan suggests
enhancing taxation and labor control in the transport sector.
While reporting on the situation in the sector on Thursday, Beglaryan
said that in Jan-June 2012 the sector paid just 1bln AMD in taxes,
which is 42% less than in Jan-June 2011. "So, we have reasons to
suspect that some transport companies do not declare their real
turnovers," the Minister said.
As regards the communication sector, Beglaryan said that here
profitability has dropped by 5.5% following growth in expenses and
rise in tariffs. "The key factor urging our telecoms operators to
raise their tariffs is tough competition," the Minister said.-0-
