The fifth annual Georgian Information Technologies Innovation (GITI)
conference was launched in Tbilisi to run from November 14 to 17.

Aside from sessions on e-governance, information and cyber security,
regional telecommunication market development and other important
IT development topics, the conference offers an award to recognize
regional IT breakthroughs and contributions, as well as an exhibit,
which will feature an Armenian Corner this year.

The Armenian delegation includes 50 representatives from the government
and local high-tech enterprises, such as Instigate Design, Gallery
Systems, Best Soft, Essential Solutions, X-Tech, Innovative Greenhouse,
Kinect Menu Team, Locator, Clean H2Oand others. The Armenian Corner
will present local information and communication technology (ICT)
solutions, including products and services that are available from
Yerevan and other regions of the country. The delegation is led by the
Union of Information Technology Enterprises (UITE) and supported by
USAID-funded Enterprise Development and Market Competitiveness (EDMC)
Project. EDMC support is aimed at enhancing the export capacities of
Armenian IT companies in the closest international market - Georgia
    - as well as sharpening their practical knowledge of international
    business communication, marketing and sales.

The conference traditionally aims to promote networking and partnership
between IT companies, associations, and state representatives from
Central and Eastern Europe, the Baltic States, Caucasus countries
and Central Asia in an effort to increase competitiveness and
innovation. It is organized by the Georgian ICT Business Council and
the LEPL Data Exchange Agency of the Georgian Ministry of Justice.

Armenian companies and state representatives have participated in
the conference since the inaugural year of 2008 with the goal of
representing the 'Made in Armenia' brand, promoting local solutions
in foreign markets and obtaining new partners outside of Armenia,
UITE said in a news release.
