HIS HOLINESS ARAM I SENDS HIS CONDOLENCES TO THE HOLY SYNOD OF THE BULGARIAN
ORTHODOX CHURCH
In his letter of condolence to the Holy Synod of the Bulgarian Orthodox
Church, His Holiness Aram I mentioned that the late Patriarch Maxim I will
be remembered as the Spiritual Leader who first lead his people under
communism and then saw the transition of the country to democracy. He also
added, "I followed closely the difficult discussions between the
representatives of the Bulgarian Orthodox Church and the World Council of
Churches on these issues while I was Moderator (1991-2006).
