"WE SHALL RENOVATE THE ARMENIAN GENOCIDE MARTYRS' MEMORIAL IN DER ZOR
(SYRIA)
AS SOON AS ORDER IS RESTORED", ANNOUNCED HIS HOLINESS ARAM I
His Holiness Aram I was informed of the damage on the Memorial compound in
Der Zor dedicated to the victims of the Armenian Genocide of 1915. The
Catholicos was satisfied that the compound had not been a direct target but
had been damaged by shrapnel from aerial bombardments around it.
His Holiness promised to begin renovations as soon as security was restored
in the country.
