ONE MORE DECISION FOR THE DIASPORA ARMENIANS APPEARED IN AN EMERGENCY SITUATION

The RA Government plans to adopt another decision with respect to
Syrian Armenians, which is aimed at relieving them from the national
tax for obtaining or changing the RA citizen valid passport in a
foreign country.
According to the law on state duty the size of the state duty with
this respect is AMD 65, 000 the payment of which is problematic for
the Syrian Armenians in extreme material conditions.
The project of the decision on receiving preferences for the state
duty of the RA Ministry of Diaspora staff is on the agenda of the
upcoming Government session on November 22. The formulation in the
project is more comprehensive: 'To relieve those people with Armenian
nationality or the RA citizenship from state duty for obtaining or
changing an RA valid passport in a foreign country, in the country
of permanent residence of whom an emergency situation was created,
which threatens the life or health of the citizens'.
The state duty payments for obtaining or changing a passport will be
paid to the RA state budget from the reserve fund of the Government
prescribed by the RA state budget of the current year.
