RAFFI HOVANNISIAN: AZERBAIJAN COMMITTED AGGRESSION AGAINST KARABAKH

Arminfo-Turan. "I think we should overcome the heritage of the past
and every party should be more self-critical", - ex-foreign minister
of Armenia, Raffi Hovannisian, staying in Baku within the frames of
the 7th international conference of Asian countries, said at today's
press-conference.
Asked about settlement of the Karabakh conflict, Hovannisian said
that one should not use such terms like "occupation". "If we follow
this logic, in that case major part of the Armenian lands are also
under occupation of Turkey and Azerbaijan. For this reason, I think
we should overcome the heritage of the past and every party should
be more self-critical", - he said.
Asked about the reason of the Armenian-Azerbaijani conflict, he replied
that "the aggression of Azerbaijan against Karabakh residents" is the
reason of the conflict. "Both parties suffered, not only Azerbaijani
refugees, which of course is very bad. But Armenian refugees were
also wounded, and one should remember that", - Raffi Hovannisian said.
