ARMENIA WAS ELECTED IN NOVEMBER IN ONE INSTITUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF EUROPE AND 2 INSTITUTIONS OF THE UNITED NATIONS ORGANIZATION

During November 2012 Armenia was elected in one institution of
the Council of Europe and 2 institutions of the United Nations
Organization. 'Pastinfo' was informed about it by the Ministry of
Foreign Affairs.
The first is the Group of Experts on Action Against Trafficking in
Human Beings of the Council of Europe (GRETA), a member of which
was reelected the RA representative, now the Deputy Head of that
group Gyulnara Shahinyan. GRETA supervises the performance of the
provisions of the Council of Europe Convention on the fight against
human trafficking by the countries that ratified the Convention.
Armenia was reelected also in the United Nations Commission on
International Trade Law of the UN GA between 2013 and 2019. The
UNCITRAL is the key UN legal body in the international trade law.
Its main task is updating and bringing the norms of private law in
line with the norms of the international law.
The membership of Armenia to the UN COPUOS is very important. The
4th Committee of the UN GA voted in favor of Armenia's membership.
