On November 22 the RA NA Speaker Hovik Abrahamyan had bilateral
meetings with the Speaker of the State Duma of the Russian Federation
(RF) Sergey Narishkin and the Speaker of the Federal Council of the
    RF Federal Assembly Valentina Matviyenko.

During the meeting with the Speaker of the RF State Duma Sergey
Narishkin the speakers of the two parliaments discussed issues
concerning the activation of inter-parliamentary relations, cooperation
in the international parliamentary organizations and a number of
    issues of bilateral interest.

The Speaker of the State Duma highlighted his official visit
to Armenia in strengthening of the Armenian-Russian inner-state
cooperation. He has deemed necessary the further deepening and the
development of inter-parliamentary cooperation, has highlighted
the mutual visits, which promote more strengthening of friendly
relations between Armenia and Russia. In the development of the

considered important the activity of the inter-parliamentary committee
of the RA NA and RF Federal Assembly: its upcoming sitting will be
held in Yerevan on November 29. To his conviction, the Committee's
work essentially promotes the stable and dynamic development of the
RA and RF inter-parliamentary relations. Sergey Narishkin thanked Mr
Abrahamyan for organizing at high level and holding in Yerevan the
first joint visiting sitting of the CSTO United headquarters and the

the CSTO activity. In his word, the organization is an established
military-political structure and an important factor of keeping
stability in the post-Soviet territory. To his conviction, the activity
of the CSTO Parliamentary Assembly is also rather effective.

In the NA Speaker's opinion, as an effective example of cooperation
of the CSTO Parliamentary Assembly and Statutory bodies of the
Organization may also be considered the Yerevan sitting of the CSTO
United headquarters and the chairmen of the committees on Defense
and Security Affairs of the CSTO PA member states.

    the development of inter-parliamentary relations.

On the same day the NA Speaker Hovik Abrahamyan had a meeting with the
