YEREVAN. - The terrorist Nairi Hunanian, imprisoned in Armenia for
life sentence, will not take part in his mother's funeral, the head
of public relations department of the penitentiary branch of the
Ministry of Justice Gor Ghlechyan told Armenian News-NEWS.am.

According to the Armenia's criminal code, the convicts who have
committed grave or especially grave crimes and have a life sentence
are not allowed for short-term visits for their relatives' funerals.
    Other convicts are allowed.

To the question on whether Nairi Hunanian has already been told about
that decision, he answered that the department has not yet received an
official document on Hunanian's mother's death from any of their
    relatives.

Armenian News-NEWS.am earlier reported that on November 23 in
Yevpatoria city, near the sea, 2 meters away from the coast,
Hunanyan's mother, Natella Galstyan's body was discovered.

Note, that 13 years ago, on Oct. 27, 1999, five members of terrorist
group led by Nairi Hunanian and armed with automatic guns, entered the
Armenian parliament and killed during parliament session the Speaker
Karen Demirchyan, prime minister Vazgen Sargsyan and 6 other high
    ranking officials.

The trial over them took 3 years, as a result of which the five
terrorists were convicted to live sentence. During the trial, the
organizers of the attack were not discovered.
