THE EXPOSITION OF THE ARMENIAN MANUSCRIPTS AND PRINTED BOOKS LAUNCHED IN THE BRITISH LIBRARY

YEREVAN, NOVEMBER 26, ARMENPRESS. The Embassy of the Republic of
Armenia in association with the administration of renowned British
Library organized an exhibition of the Armenian manuscripts and
printed books in the British Library, which is dedicated to the
500th anniversary of Armenian printing, the 20th anniversary of
the establishment of diplomatic relations between the Republic of
Armenia and the United Kingdom of Great Britain and the designation
of Yerevan as 2012-2013 World Book Capital. The exquisite examples
of the Armenian manuscripts and printed books are introduced in the
"Treasury" hall of the British Library.
The Department of Press, Information and Public Relations of the
Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Armenia informed
"Armenpress" that the Minister of Culture of the Republic of Armenia
Hasmik Poghosyan left for London to partake in the opening ceremony
in London. Parliamentarians from the parliament of the United Kingdom,
representatives Ministry of Foreign Affairs and diplomatic circles of
London, alongside with the representatives of the Armenian community
were present at the ceremony.
The Director of Scholarship & Collections of the British Library
Caroline Brazier and the Ambassador of the Republic of Armenia to
the United Kingdom Karine Ghazinyan made opening remarks.
