NOVEMBER 27 IS DAY OF COMMEMORATION OF YEGHISHE CHARENTS

YEREVAN, NOVEMBER 27, ARMENPRESS. A number of pupils from the schools
providing general education in Armenia gathered by the monument of
prominent Armenian writer Yeghishe Charents to pay tribute to the
memory of the beloved poet. The organizer of the event dedicated to
Yeghishe Charents' 75th anniversary is the Writer's Union of Armenia.
As reports "Armenpress" the Chairman of the Writer's Union of Armenia
Levon Ananyan stated that Charents appeared in the world literature
with a special mission, which was to introduce the psychology,
worldview and character of the Armenian people. Levon Ananyan said:
"In those difficult times the national genius completed his unique
mission." In addition he noted that Charents did more, than could do
an individual.
The Director of Charents House-Museum Lilit Hakobyan said that
November 27 is not a sole anniversary of Charents' death, but one
of commemoration and eternity. Lilit Hakobyan said: "While poems by
Charents live on and are uttered by the pupils Charents lives on with
them. He is immortal." She also added that Charents belongs to the
centuries and he will continue his way perpetually.
