country personally and the society. The instructions by the President
of the Republic refer to the issue were clear and strict. Armenpress
had an interview with the chief of the staff of Armenian Ministry of
Health Suren Krmoyan.
"Market economy rules are prevailing in Armenia yet competitive field
is needed for possessing normal prices. Armenian Ministry of Health
and our partners are caring no efforts aimed at operating competitive
conditions, as the field lacks norms, mechanisms which should regulate
drug pricing system. Competitive conditions will enable to define
certain market prices for the imported drugs, which will later on
contribute to the import of large amount of drugs. Armenian Ministry
of Health is elaborating a law which stipulates price defining of the
drugs in great demand, which stands, that the drug acquires fixed price
when in the border of Armenia. Armenian President gave an instruction
on September 29 to regulate the issues pertain to the drugs, namely
quality, safety, started from professional approach up to licensing
of wholesale trade, besides elaboration of price reduction with the
precondition of ensuring high quality, so the consumer must be sure
he is paying for quality medicine" the chief of the staff underscored.
