220 families have turned to State Migration Service of the Ministry
of Territorial Administration on the request for asylum.
As the head of the Service told in the briefing with Armenpress over

Another 4000 Syrian Armenians, arrived in Armenia due to tense
situation in Syria are back again" Firdus Zakaryan, working group head
dealing with Syrian Armenian issues stated. The most urgent issue our
Syrian compatriots are facing is the job seeking. Some specialties
do not conform to the proposed work. "They turn to us they are run
off the financial resources" Zakaryan noted.
Union of Employers of Armenia is also making efforts to alleviate the
difficulties refer to job seeking, where those Syrian Armenians who
want to make business in Armenia are provided with free of charge
advice. In the words of the head of Union of Employers of Armenia
Gagik Makaryan in the course of the consultation convened by the
Union Syrian Armenians issue is on the agenda. "In the near future
we have intentions to convene another similar conference with the
participation of international experts. We shall exert junctions to
settle Syrian Armenians job issues" the interlocutor noted.
The head of the working group dealing with Syrian Armenian issues,
Ministry of Diaspora highlighted the problem of textbooks and
programs. " We are caring no efforts that Syrian Armenian children
would be able to keep to the program when back to Syria. We are looking
forward to textbooks due to arrive from Syria. Those who want may
continue their studies by Syrian program, reportedly those children who
are going to stay in Homeland, will continue our education curriculum.
Currently Syrian Armenians are attending the schools of the capital
to get acquainted with Eastern Armenian. Syrian school is located in
Kentron administrative district's 14 school, where 85-90% out of 200
pupils are set to continue their studies in Armenia. According to
Firdus Zakaryan the issue of Syrian Armenians return has got rather
complicated because of the scarce resources. "As National Air Carrier
"Armavia" company is not launching flights, many Syrian Armenians
already purchased tickets do not know how to deal. We must submit
to the Air Company with a demand either return the relevant money or
appoint the day of the flight"Zakaryan underscored.
Earlier told Armenpress was informed by Armavia the money will be
compensated part by part.
The clashes lasting year and more resulted in the death of over 30
thousand people. There are 22 thousand and more peaceful residents
among them. Armenian community has also suffered losses by ongoing
shelling. Syrian Armenians have recovered two dozen victims, including
Syrian army soldiers. Numerous Syrians are leaving the country due
to the lasting clashes, appearing in other countries as refugees.
