Baku. Victoria Dementieva - APA. "We have made statements for several
times, noting that such acts are illegal and seriously damage the peace
talks towards the peaceful solution of Nagorno Karabakh conflict",
the spokesman for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan Elman
Abdullayev said while commenting on the newly opened Khankandi airport.
He mentioned that this step by Armenia clearly shows that it has no
intention to show its political will towards the settlement of the
conflict: "it makes me to ask again why the international community
hasn't given an adequate reaction towards the issue. The international
community has discussed this issue for many times. Azerbaijan has never
made illegal actions. Our steps are always based on the international
norms. I hope that international community will give an adequate
response to such step made by Armenia. The above mentioned territory
belongs to Azerbaijani air space and the opening of an airport in
this area contradicts Chicago Convention on Civil Aviation.
