By not participating in the voting on deprivation of Armenia's ex-FM,
MP of the Prosperous Armenia Party (PAP) Vartan Oskanian of his
parliamentary immunity the four parliamentary groups showed their
political will.
Talking to Tert.am, Vahan Babayan, a PAP parliamentary group member,
said this is evidence that some of the parliamentary forces are
discontent with the prosecutor general's decision.
"As humane treatment, as well as on the basis of our political
statements, we hoped people would properly assess the situation and
refrain from that step. The fact is that the majority voted," he said.
He cannot say anything of possible confrontation between the ruling
Republican Party of Armenia (RPA) and the Prosperous Armenia Party
(PAP).
"We will make a statement yet. Thereafter we will announce of further
steps," Babayan said.
PAP Spokesman Tigran Urikhanyan told Tert.am that the party plans
to discuss its further steps. "The question of the day for all of us
must be 'Are we not going to ever answer for our steps?'"
