VARTAN OSKANIAN: SAAKASHVILI'S RECOGNITION OF ELECTION RESULTS DEMONSTRATES THAT GEORGIA OUTSTRIPS ARMENIA BY 10 STEPS

Georgian President Mikheil Saakashvili's recognition of the Oct 1
election results in the opposition's favor demonstrates that Georgia
outstrips Armenia by 10 steps, ex-foreign minister of Armenia Vartan
Oskanian says on his Facebook page.
Oskanian says that the political field of Georgia has counterweights:
the President represents one party, and the parliamentary majority and
the future Government will be formed by another political force. The
former FM thinks that Armenia could outstrip Georgia by the results
of its May 6 2012 parliamentary elections; however, the Armenian
authorities were unable to take a grip on themselves and to rate the
people's interests higher than their own interests.
By preliminary data based on 20.74% of total votes, the two leaders
in the parliamentary elections in Georgia are Georgian Dream - 53.89%
of votes and the ruling party United National Movement - 41.01%.
The other parties have not yet overcome the 5% threshold to the
parliament. The elections are especially interesting as after the
presidential election in 2013 in Georgia the political and public
system in the country will change and the parliament and the government
will receive much more powers.
