ARMENIAN PRIME MINISTER HIGHLIGHTED ESTABLISHMENT OF RELATIONS WITH SWISS TOURISM TOUR OPERATORS

YEREVAN, OCTOBER 4, ARMENPRESS: The Prime Minister of the Republic of
Armenia Tigran Sargsyan hosted the members of the Parliamentary Group
Swiss-Armenia of the Federal Assembly of the Swiss Confederation. The
meeting was attended also by the Ambassador Extraordinary and
Plenipotentiary of Switzerland to Armenia Konstantin Obolenski.
As Armenpress was reported by the Information and PR Department of the
Government of Armenia, greeting the guests at the Government, Tigran
Sargsyan stated: "We highlight the development of the Armenian-Swiss
relations in different fields, including economy. The Parliamentary
Group of the two countries provides the opportunity to discuss the
issues related to the implementation of the Swiss-Armenian joint
programs, which is quite important", - said the Prime Minister of
the Republic of Armenia.
Tigran Sargsyan stated that 40 companies with Swiss capital currently
function in Armenia, which number does not correspond to the potential
of the bilateral cooperation.
In this context the interlocutors considered interesting the bilateral
cooperation in the fields of finances and tourism and discussed the
issues related to the possible organization of the direct flights
between Armenia and Switzerland.
The Head of the Armenian Government stated about the importance of
the possible establishment of relations with the Swiss tourism tour
operators in the context of presenting the attractiveness of the
tourism in Armenia in the international arena.
The Swiss deputies reported that their aim was to make the relations
with Armenia closer, activate and expand the bilateral ties and foster
the international recognition of the Armenian Genocide.
In his turn the Prime Minister of Armenia stated that the Armenian
nation highly evaluates the adoption of the bill on recognition of
the Armenian Genocide by the Swiss National Council.
In response to the question of the guests Tigran Sargsyan touched
upon the regulation of the Armenian-Turkish relations and reminded
that Turkey did not fulfill its political obligations and did not
validate the protocols on the regulation of the bilateral relations.
According to the Prime Minister of Armenia Tigran Sargsyan, Turkey
hampers the regulation process of the relations with Armenia and if
Turkey validates the protocols, Armenia will do the same.
At the meeting the interlocutors discussed as well the European
integration process of Armenia and the reforms implemented in our
country.
