PanARMENIAN.Net - During the October 4 sitting, the government of
Armenia rejected an initiative to provide a one-time grant to newly
formed families.
As the Minister of Labor and Social Affairs Artem Asatryan noted
during the introduction of the project, the government continues to
retain focus on the outreach to young families.
However, he noted, additional work to clarify the social situation of
the families would be required before specifying the families in need
of the donation. "Thus the draft law applying to all the newly-formed
families would be unreasonable," the official said.
