EUROPEAN PARLIAMENTARIANS DOUBT ABOUT EXPEDIENCY OF AZERBAIJAN'S STAYING IN THE COUNCIL OF EUROPE

Over the hearings on extradition and pardoning of an Azerbaijani
killer Ramil Safarov at PACE plenary session, representatives
of almost all parliamentary delegations, except the Turkish one,
expressed bewilderment with the fact.
When responding to accusations, representatives of Azerbaijani
delegation said that pardoning of a murderer is a sovereign affair of
Azerbaijan. They even started blackmailing and one of the Azerbaijani
parliamentarians reminded his European counterparts that Azerbaijan
is an important energy partner of Europe.
However, all this reasoning had a boomerang effect upon European
parliamentarians. And a representative of the French delegation
to the Council of Europe said that he wonders if it is right that
representatives of Azerbaijan, trying so eagerly to justify a murderer,
which axed a sleeping man, are in PACE plenary session hall.
