The Armenian authorities have committed a big political mistake when
bringing a criminal charge against Vartan Oskanian, former Ambassador
of Armenia, expert Arman Navasardyan said during a press-conference
on Monday.
He said that Oskanian knows lots of diplomats worldwide, and his
trial may have very bad consequences for Armenia.
"Of course, nobody will openly say that we are an authoritarian
country, but their practical steps will speak for themselves,"
Navasardyan said, adding that the Armenian authorities are politically
motivated and somewhat infantile in this case.
