" IF ALL..." FILM ABOUT THE WAR IN ARTSAKH ENTERED INTO "OSCAR" AWARD EXTENDED LIST

YEREVAN, OCTOBER 9, ARMENPRESS:" If all ..." film telling about
Artsakh war entered into American Academy "Oscar" award extended
list to be nominated in "Best foreign film" category. The film was
directed by Natalia Belyausken under the auspices of Serzh Sargsyan,
the President of the Republic of Armenia dedicated to the 20th
anniversary of Armenian Army independence. Michael Poghosyan and
Theresa Varzhapetyan are the producers of the film. Music is written
by composer Vahagn Hayrapetyan.
Russian director Karen Shahnazaryan "White Tiger" film was also
included in the expanded list in the same category, Armenpress
reports citing "Novosti" agency. According to the plot, the Soviet
Army sergeant Ivan Naydenove (Alexey Vertkov), who by a miracle was
saved from the burning tank, caught in a deadly fight with German
ghost tank "White Tiger".
Only 71 films are included in the list. "Oscar" Award candidates
short list will be announced on January 10, 2013. Post-Soviet states
nominees' works are broadly represented in the published expanded
list. Asghar Farhadi "Naderi and Simini devorce" Iranian drama was
previous year winner in this category.
