OSCE SOUTH CAUCASUS MEDIA CONFERENCE TO DISCUSS NEW-MEDIA CHALLENGES

YEREVAN, OCTOBER 9, ARMENPRESS: The OSCE Representative on Freedom of
the Media Dunja MijatoviÄ~G will open the 9th annual South Caucasus
Media Conference "From traditional to online media: best practices and
perspectives" in Tbilisi on Thursday, 11 October, reports Armenpress
citing OSCE site. The two-day event will focus on online and social
media. More than 80 journalists, representatives of media and civil
society, parliamentarians and academics from Armenia, Azerbaijan and
Georgia, along with international experts, will discuss evolving trends
in online media, as well as general media developments in the South
Caucasus. The conference participants will discuss legal challenges
and issues pertaining to Internet content regulation and e-government
tools, learn more about best practices in self-regulation of online
media, as well as discuss regulatory practices in traditional and
online media and examine possible policy responses.
