The "Land and Technology" festival of modern art that is participated
by 19 artists from Armenia, the USA and Europe and 20 painters
from Artsakh commenced in Shoushi on October 1 and will last until
October 14.
Manager of the festival, artist Hery Vorberyan reported to
Karabakh-open.info that the artists had already begun their activities
in different parts of Shoushi such as the Narekatsi art union,
the art gallery, Jdrduz, etc. "The participants work strenuously in
order to manage to exhibit their works at October 5 opening ceremony
of the festival that will host guests from the USA and Armenia,"
Hery Vorberyan noted and expressed his hope that the 2014 festival
will involve young or senior artists working within the framework of
conceptual art.
Within the framework of the festival film director Suzan Khardalyan
will conduct a master class of documentary film producing.
The "Land and Technology" festival, according to Hery Vorberyan, has
several aims. First of all, the artists that knew nothing of Shoushi
came here and saw what beautiful place it is for such international
festivals to be held in. And then, the people that arrive in Shoushi to
participate in the festival have their investment in the development
of tourism and this is still the first step. Our main aim is the
development of Shoushi and the return of the city's one-time glory
and the right to call it a cultural centre.
