EUROPEAN ARMENIAN NATIONAL COMMITTEE SUGGESTED HUNGARY TO RECOGNIZE NKR PEOPLE SELF-DETERMINATION RIGHT AS A SOLUTION TO ''SAFAROV'' ISSUE

YEREVAN, OCTOBER 11, ARMENPRESS: European Armenian National Committee
delegation visited Hungary Republic Permanent Ambassador Kovach Tamas
Ivan residence in Kingdom of Belgium and Luxembourg, who spoke on
behalf of Hungary representatives in NATO and European Union. The goal
of the meeting was to demand explanations from Hungarian authorities
over Ramil Safarov extradition and offer to undertake steps directed
to the restoration of relations between Armenia and Hungary.
Ambassador conveyed his disappointment on behalf of Hungary Government
about the release of Safarov as well as subsequent pardon and heroism,
stating Aliyev's step does not meet the appropriate diplomatic and
political basis in case Azerbaijan promised that Safarov will continue
to serve his punishment in Azerbaijani prison.
Ambassador stressed the need of restoring diplomatic relations
between Armenia and Hungary.Dwelling on Armenian-Hungary ancient
ties and Armenian Hungarian Community Gaspar Karapetyan , European
Armenian National Committee chairman stated Hungarian authorities
should pay more attention to the issue and that they should have
alleged Azerbaijani authorities would entitle Safarov with hero title,
taking into account Aliyev anti Armenian policy.
