The Environmental Public Alliance demands resignation of Armenia's
Minister of Nature Protection Aram Harutyunyan, http://www.ecolur.org

The 48 members of the alliance have joined this statement, besides
Karine Danielyan, Chairman of "For Sustainable Human Development"
NGO and Arman Vermishyan, Chairman of "Burg" NGO.
The statement of the Alliance particularly says, "...The Public
Environmental Alliance expresses its distrust to Nature Protection
Minister Aram Harutyunyan and demands his resignation. The Alliance
expresses its concern with the appointment of a new nature protection
minister..." "To avoid any political pressure, a minister shouldn't
be a member to any party. S/he should have professional qualification
in the field of nature protection. Public stakeholders' opinions
should be taken into consideration when appointing a minister as
the provisions of the Aarhus Convention on public participation in
decision-making on environmentally important matters say..."
