Russian Federation : Russian Railways is to discuss investment in
Armenia-Iran railway construction
Transport Minister of Russia, Maksim Sokolov said Russian Railways JSC
will discuss possible investment in construction of Armenia-Iran
railway this December.
During the Armenia-Russia intergovernmental committee meeting held in
Yerevan the minister said they are in constant interaction with the
Russian Railways to coordinate the investment programs. He said
collaboration projects with foreign states will be considered in
December when 2013 investment program of Russian Railways is
confirmed.
Experts are of the opinion that construction of Armenia-Iran railway
will take five years. As per the initial assessment, the project is
estimated at $1.5-2 billion.
