The Alliances Françaises foundation has opened a school in Yerevan.
The school has been opened at 3 Moskovyan Str.
Armenian Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan and French Ambassador to
Armenia Henri Reynaud held the opening ceremony.
Following the ceremony, Armenia's premier noted that the new school
will bring new blood into the Alliances Françaises foundation's
10-year-long activities in Armenia.
Armenia's government is interested in the foundation's larger-scale
activities in Armenia.
`We are interested in cooperating with the Alliances Françaises
foundation. I am sure that it can serve as a means of promoting
Armenia's integration with Europe,' the premier said.
Ambassador Henri Reynaud noted that the newly opened Alliances
Françaises education and cultural institution will represent France in
Armenia.
The Alliances Françaises foundation aims at spreading French language
and culture throughout the world and developing national cultures and
art in the host countries.
The school has the best conditions for launching its activities in
Armenia now. It is more than a school - it is a venue for contacts and
dialogue. It is a center of French culture in Yerevan for all those
interested in France, Ambassador Henri Reynaud said.
Jean-Claude Jacq, Secretary General, Alliances Françaises foundation,
who attended the ceremony, said that the foundation has 850 centers
throughout the world.
School Director Syuzan Ghazaryan said that French language courses are
available to everyone. After attending the courses, the students will
receive certificates that are in force throughout the world - for both
for employers and higher schools.
The Alliances Françaises foundation launched its activities in Armenia in 2003.
