Azerbaijani threats about attacking Stepanakert airplanes are meant
for inner consumption: Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Armenia

    14:48, 15 October, 2012

YEREVAN, OCTOBER 15, ARMENPRESS. Azerbaijani bellicose declarations
about attacking airplanes of Stepanakert airport are for their own
inner consumption. As reports "Armenpress" this was said by the Head
of the Department of Operational Readiness of Armed Forces of the
Republic of Armenia, Major General Ishkhan Matevosyan during the press
conference. He said: "Theoretically our rival is ready to attack
Stepanakert airport or civil airplanes, but this issue must be
discussed from legal and diplomatic viewpoints". Major General added
that we are ready for war.

Press Secretary of the Minister of Defense of the Republic of Armenia
Artsrun Hovhannisyan said, that Azerbaijani declarations about
attacking Stepanakert airport belong to Azerbaijani swaggering. Press
Secretary said the following: "These declarations of the rival belong
to the typical bellicose rhetoric, one he used when he was saying that
they will conquer Armenia in 6 days and reach Sevan, but as we all
can see they do not succeed to realize what they say".

On October 1 Stepanakert airport was officially granted a certificate
and it was declared ready for exploitation. Certificate of the
Aviation Department of Nagorno Karabakh Republic certifies that it can
be put into operation. In a conversation with "Armenpress" head of the
Department of Civil Aviation of Nagorno Karabakh Dmitri Atbashyan
mentioned, that the airport is in conformity with the international
    standards.
