HRAPARAK: ARMENIAN PRESIDENT ORDERS 'PRE-SCHEDULE RESIGNATIONS'

Armenia's President Serzh Sargsyan has reportedly "ordered" the mayors
and heads of rural communities that failed to be re-elected to hand
in their "pre-schedule resignations."
The order turns out to concern only the members of the ruling
Republican Party of Armenia (RPA) that headed the communities where
the ruling party was not so successful in the latest elections.
The mayors of Ashtarak and Gyumri handed in their "pre-schedule
resignations."
On the other hand, Dmitry Nazaryan, a member of the Prosperous Armenia
Party (PAP), who was elected Masis mayor, told the newspaper that he
did not receive any "orders."
