DELEGATION OF ITALIAN MINISTER OF DEFENCE VISITED ETCHMIADZIN

YEREVAN, OCTOBER 17, ARMENPRESS: His Holiness Karekin II Supreme
Patriarch and Catholicos of All Armenians hosted delegation led by
Italian Minister of Defence Admiral Giampaolo Di Paola in Mother See
of Holy Etchmiadzin on October 17. They were accompanied by Deputy
Minister of Defence Davit Tonoyan and the spiritual leader of Armed
Forces Vrtanes Bishop Abrahamyan.
As Armenpress was informed from the informational department of
Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin, His Holiness greeted the guests and
highly evaluated the forming of the military cooperation between two
countries. Catholicos of All Armenians noted that Armenian-Italian
friendship is reflected not only at a state, but also church level.
Interlocutors referred to the spiritual pastorate of the Armed Forces.
This regard, His Holiness noted with satisfaction that about four dozen
clergymen brought spiritual service in the Armenian army. The spiritual
service of the Army is provided with the opportunity to get acquainted
with the experiences of other countries~R similar structures.
Catholicos of All Armenians and Italian Minister of Defence spoke
about the relations of church and the state, referred to the peaceful
settlement of NKR issue as well.
