"The statements by the Republican Party's court parrot Eduard
Sharmazanov zombify the Armenian public," David Hakobyan, Leader of
the Marxist Party of Armenia, told media, Thursday.
Earlier, RPA Spokesperson, Vice Speaker of the Armenian Parliament
Eduard Sharmazanov said that the incumbent president Serzh Sargsyan
is out of competition and during the upcoming presidential election
the fight will be for the second position.
The Marxist is sure that such statements are nothing but an attempt
to mislead the public in order the "dynasty of the Vikings ruling
in Armenia" retains power. David Hakobyan announced that he will
run for the president. The politician is sure that he will be a
serious rival to the incumbent president. As for his participation
in the additional parliamentary elections from the single-mandate
constituency No 1 in Avan community, Yerevan, he said: "I yield my
position to Taron Margaryan and his team." He is sure that the voting
outcome is predetermined.
To recall, the Republican Party nominated Deputy Head of the Yerevan
Register, Yerevan Mayor's brother-in-law Robert Sargsyan from the
above single-mandate constituency vs. Stepan Safaryan, Secretary of
Heritage Party.
