Baku - APA. President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev made an official
statement after the meeting with chairman of the Tripartite Presidency
of Bosnia and Herzegovina Bakir Izetbegoviĉ, APA reports.
President mentioned that Bakir Izetbegoviĉ's arrival in Azerbaijan
is the first highest-level visit in the history of mutual relations
between the states: "Our relations has great potential and prosperous
future. I hope that the visit will become an important stage in the
development of bilateral relations".
The Head of State noted the extension of the political dialogue
and underlined that they discussed with Bakir Izetbegoviĉ further
prospects of economic cooperation between the states: "Today we have
also discussed the regional situation. Of course, the settlement of
Nagorno Karabakh conflict remains a priority for us. Our country has
been suffering from the Armenian invasion for a long time.
International organizations, including the UN Security Council and
General Assembly have adopted a number of resolutions on immediate
and unconditional withdrawal of the Armenian armed forces from the
occupied territory of Azerbaijan. Unfortunately, these resolutions
haven't been implemented yet. The settlement of the conflict in the
short run within the framework of the international law and territory
integrity will be favorable for all states. Our countries have much in
common. We have faced aggression, occupation and difficult situation.
This also units us. Both pleasant memories of the past and the events
that happened 20 years unite us. That's why we understand each other
very well".
