Strategic partnership between Russia and Armenia develops in different
fields, chairman of the Russian Audit Chamber Sergei Stepashin said.
Speaking at a joint session of the collegiums of the chambers on
Wednesday, Stepashin said Russia and Armenia "maintain cooperation
in the economy, politics, education and culture".
"Close relations were formed almost two centuries ago and not
interrupted despite the change of borders and forms of the state
structure," Stepashin noted.
"State audit is a relatively new field of international cooperation."
"There are few foreign structures of fiscal supervision that Russia
developed such intensive contacts with," Stepashin said.
The Russian Audit Chamber delegation arrived in Yerevan on an
official visit on Tuesday, October 16. During the meeting with Armenian
President Serzh Sargsyan, Stepashin said he is hopeful that the session
in Yerevan would facilitate further expansion of cooperation and the
strengthening of bilateral relations.
