Representatives of at least 50 companies engaged in the manufacturing,
processing and trading of food are participating in the ArmProd EXPO
2012 annual exhibition underway in the RA government building. Food and
beverage producers and suppliers from Artsakh are also participating
in the exhibition.
Entrepreneurs from Armenia and Artsakh face the same problems
connected with the consumption market. "We have our special place
in the market and we are not going to yield it to some other company
that enjoys monopoly," said Arthur Asryan, Director of the Yerevan
branch of Stepanakert Brandy Company.
Representatives of small and middle-sized businesses say confess that
they cannot expand their activities because of heavy taxes.
This year visitors have to pay AMD 500 to walked round the exhibition
halls and get acquainted with the products. The organizers say the
money will be used for charitable purposes.
The exhibition is organized by the Ministry of Agriculture in
cooperation with the Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs
(Employers) of Armenia and LOGOS EXPO Center.
