YEREVAN, OCTOBER 22, ARMENPRESS: There is no point in making
comparisons between Armenian and Georgian parliamentary elections,
it would be better to evaluate its own capabilities on the basis of
legislative criteria. This was declared by Ambassador Traian Hristea,
Head of the EU Delegation to Armenia.
According to Andrei Sorokin Head of the OSCE Office in Yerevan, both
positive and negative episodes of Armenian and Georgian parliamentary
elections could be pointed out.
"The parliamentary elections were won neither by Ivanishvili nor by
Saakahsvili, Georgian Constitution is considered to be the winner.
Saakashvili had enough courage to acknowledge the failure of his party
and to restore Ivanishvili's citizenship. The elections were successful
enough, not enough for being an example, but we can pay tribute to
the defeated party" Sorokin said according to Armenpress, adding that
Armenia recorded fair and transparent elections in its manner.
