A man has been diagnosed with anthrax in Armenia, the press service
for the Armenian Health Ministry told Interfax.
Reports on suspected anthrax came from the Vardenis district of the
Gegarkunin region, northern Armenia, where fifteen people have been
hospitalized.
"Anthrax was confirmed in one of the 15 people. Non-pathogenic anthrax
agents were found in nine people, and five people tested negative
for anthrax," the ministry said.
The patients are now is fair condition and appear to be recovering,
the report says.
Biological material was taken at the site for tests, the report says.
