YEREVAN, OCTOBER 24, ARMENPRESS: Edward Nalbandyan, Foreign Affair
Minister of the Republic of Armenia, in the frame of his official
visit to Mexico had a meeting with Francisco Arroyo Vieira, deputy
    chairman of the Mexican Senate.

As Information and Public Relations Department of the Foreign Affair
Ministry informed Armenpress, welcoming the head of Armenian Foreign
Affairs, Mr. Vieira stated Mexico's Parliament wishes to contribute to
the development and strengthening of the Mexican- Armenian relations.

Edward Nalbandyan stated that distorting statement on NK conflict
discussed during Mexico's Parliament previous convocation harmed not
only bilateral relations but rudely contradicted the international
community's position on the settlement, which has been repeatedly
announced by OSCE Minsk group co chair countries.

According to Minister such actions harm the international community's
efforts aimed at solving the conflict and threaten regional stability.

Senior representative of Mexico's Parliament noted he is well aware of
the negative consequences of the above mentioned statement announcing
Chamber of Deputies unanimously supports international right of
fundamental principle of peoples' self-determination. Minister
Nalbandyan voiced hope Mexico's newly convoked Parliament will
undertake effective steps towards the development of relations with
    Armenia.

In his turn Francisco Arroyo Vieira, deputy chairmanof the Mexican
Senate noted Chamber of Deputies will also soon launch works aimed
at formation of friendship groups which will reportedly become an
    important format.
