PROSPEROUS ARMENIA PARTY LEADER TO BE BEST UNITED OPPOSITION CANDIDATE - POLLSTER

At least 12 political forces will participate in the "parade"
of presidential elections, head of Sociometer social poll center
Aharon Adibekyan said at a news conference Wednesday, claiming that
the Prosperous Armenia party leader has the best chances if being
    united opposition candidate.

"The parade will solve two issues - either nominate or support. As
far as the 12 political forces do not have equal opportunities part
of them will nominate their candidates and another part will back,"
    the pollster said.

He said the opposition is in a complicated situation. "If they come
up separately they will not gather enough votes but they will have
enough for the second round of the elections" he said.

Adibekyan said they have information on the basis of which they may
give advice to the opposition what strategy to apply but they will
not make it public for them [opposition] not to think that Adibekyan
    is biased.

He said they already have information that Gagik Tsarukyan's rating
it 30% and if he becomes a united candidate 10-15% will be added to it.

He said ANC leader Levon Ter-Petrosyan has only 4% and will have
10-15% more in case of being the united candidate, the same is in
    Raffi Hovhanissyan's case.

"Levon Ter-Petrosyan's rating is very low and the votes he has are
not enough even for the second round. The only thing he can do is
to support. It has just remained to see whether his ambitions will
allow him to back a political force or not," he said.

As to the Armenian Revolutionary Federation-Dashnaktsutyun (ARF-D),
the pollster said it is a well organized party, having clear electorate
but it will not win, but being a noticeable force, it can back.

"The intrigue is over the PAP and it does not have right to disappoint
its 30% voters. If you have entered the fight you should go till the
end," Adibekyan said, adding that PAP's decision will determine the
    process of elections.

The pollster believed Tsarukyan is the united candidate. "The other
issue is whether he will be nominated or not," he said.

Adibekyan also did not exclude the return of the PAP to coalition
and restoration of its official positions.
