RUSSIAN SERVICEMEN TO CLIMB MOUNT ARAGATS

YEREVAN.- Servicemen of the Russian military base deployed in Armenia
will climb Mount Aragats as a part of their mountaineering trainings.
Training is conducted by experienced instructors. Within the framework
of a special program, officers are studying mountain equipment,
vehicles moving in the mountains, overcoming the steep slopes,
ravines and water hazards, transportation of victims.
During the final stage of the course, Russian officers will climb
one of the peaks of Mount Aragats, the maximum height of which is
4,000 meters.
Mount Aragats is the highest mountain in the territory of modern
Armenia.
