YEREVAN. - Armenia has appeared in the neighborhood of Western European
countries, right after the Netherlands and right before Belgium,
in the World Bank's "Doing Business Report 2013," Economy Minister
Tigran Davtyan stated during a press conference on Thursday.
In his words, this year Armenia is a leading country in the report in
terms of progress rate, as it jumped up eighteen points at once. Owing
to this, the country has the best indicator among the CIS. Armenia
is among the regional leaders, too, and solely Armenia and Georgia
have recorded progress.
As per Davtyan, in the "Doing Business Report 2013" Armenia has strong
indicators with respect to construction permits, investment protection,
and property registration. But the indicators are relatively lower in
electricity connection, and in the tax, customs, and judicial sectors.
