Official Baku impedes inquiries into incidents on the line of contact
of the NKR and Azerbaijan armed forces, NKR Defense Minister, Defense
Army Commander, Lieutenant General Movses Hakobyan told media, Friday.
The minister said that Karabakh has repeatedly expressed readiness to
develop and apply certain mechanisms to inquire into tragic incidents
on the front line at the request of the OSCE Minsk Group co- chairs.
"We realize that it is a very complicated process and the destructive
stance of Azerbaijan makes it nearly impossible. Nevertheless, we are
not going to refuse that idea and we are ready for consistent work in
the given direction," Movses Hakobyan said. He recalled that last year
the NKR Defense Army lost 9 servicemen on the line of contact due to
ceasefire breaches and subversive actions by Azerbaijan. Li. General
Hakobyan said that during all meeting with the OSCE MG co-chairs
the NKR Armed Forces leadership expresses concern over Azerbaijan's
attempts to destabilize the situation on the front line.
Movses Hakobyan hopes the mediators inform the Azerbaijani authorities
of Karabakh's stance.
