Shirak Centre NGO reports that their everyday visits and observations
showed that at least one family member living in shacks in Gyumri
suffers from a chronic disease because of living in humid and cold
wagon-houses for more than 20 years.
"The presented video materials show in what conditions hundreds of
poor, homeless people live in but they do not allow to feel the smell
of humidity, it is necessary to visit the wagon-houses for feeling it,"
the press release of the Centre said.
Brother and sister Zhamakochyans are living in the same conditions.
NGO's representatives have again visited them to hand the aid sent
to American-based philanthropist Elvis Madatian.
Single mother Arpenik has disabilities, her son, 17-year-old Tigran,
to be drafted next year, is permanently ill because of living in
humid wagon-house.
This family has got a two-room apartment this year though during the
earthquake they lost a three-room apartment. The urban development
ministry has cut one room as the number of family members reduced
by one.
