ARMENIA AND COSTA RICA HAVE ENVISAGED NEW WAYS FOR DEVELOPMENT OF THE COOPERATION

YEREVAN, OCTOBER 26, ARMENPRESS. The meeting with the Chairman of
the Legislative Assembly of Costa Rica Victor Emilio Granados Calvo
initiated the visit of the Minister of the Foreign Affairs of the
Republic of Armenia Edvard Nalbandyan on October 25. As reports
"Armenpress" he Chairman of the Legislative Assembly of Costa Rica
greeted the Minister of the Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Armenia
and emphasized the importance of this visit, which in his opinion
will be a new start and serve as an encouragement for the reciprocal
relations. Edvard Nalbandyan expressed his gratitude for the reception
and mentioned that the main purpose of his visit is generally aimed to
the establishment of new contacts with the countries of Latin America
and in this respect cooperation with Costa Rica is of a certain
importance for Armenia to cooperate with Costa Rica in political,
economic and cultural spheres. Hence, the formation of fraternal
relations between the two countries can play an important role in
this procedure.
During the discussion the Chairman of the Legislative Assembly of
Costa Rica said that he will initiate the creation of a new fraternal
group in cooperation with the National Assembly of the Republic
of Armenia. Edvard Nalbandyan in his turn said that has already
established vivid contacts with parliaments of different countries and
is by all means he interested in the development of interparliamentary
relations with Costa Rica as well. The Minister of the Foreign Affairs
of the Republic of Armenia Edvard Nalbandyan introduced the official
position of the Republic of Armenia regarding the regulation of the
Nagorno Karabakh impact and emphasized that the Armenian approach is
in accord with the concepts of the International Community.
The negotiations between the Minister of the Foreign Affairs of the
Republic of Armenia Edvard Nalbandyan and the Minister of Foreign
Affairs of Costa Rica Jose Enrique Castillo Barantes kicked off in
San Jose on October 25. During the meeting the Minister of Foreign
Affairs of Costa Rica emphasized that he highly appreciates the visit
of the Minister of the Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Armenia,
which is a good opportunity for discussion and discovery of beneficent
spheres of cooperation.
After his visit to the countries of Latin America Edvard Nalbandyan
went to Paris, where he is supposed to have a meeting with the
Minister of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan and co-chairman of OSCE
group of Minsk.
