Georgian authorities' policy resulted in strengthening the
Turkish-Azerbaijani factor there, Republican faction's MP Shirak
Torosyan told the reporters today.
He said in many cases Georgia even concedes its interests to the
ones of Turkey and Azerbaijan with it isolating Armenia in the South
Caucasian region.
"There are many Turks living in Georgia. You can even hear Turkish
conversations in Javakhq. The Turkish element has grown in Georgia,"
he said.
"We may say that Armeniaphobia united Turkey, Azerbaijan and Georgia.
There are two countries where being Armenian is a shame - these
countries are Georgia and Turkey," he said.
Shirak Torosyan said the number of Muslims in Georgia has increased
so much in Georgia that after years a Muslim candidate may become
Georgia's president.
Turkologist Hakob Chakryan said Turkey's goal is to raise its role in
the South Caucasus. "But the OSCE Minsk group co-chairing countries
no matter how they compete which each other will not allow Turkey to
interfere in different issues," he said.
