YEREVAN. - The Presidential Palace is drawing up a variety of
scenarios and offers in return for the Prosperous Armenia Party's
(PAP) support of incumbent President Serzh Sargsyan in next year's
presidential elections, Zhamanak daily reports referring to sources
close to the authorities.
`Accordingly, during the meeting between Serzh Sargsyan and [PAP
leader] Gagik Tsarukyan it was said that Serzh Sargsyan has agreed to
dismiss PM Tigran Sargsyan after the elections, if Tsarukyan agrees to
support him [in the elections] and announces this.
In return, it was offered to appoint after the elections a mutually
acceptable person to the PM's post. It has not yet been discussed as
to who that person might be, but this does not mean the PM's office
will be given to the PAP,' Zhamanak writes.
