TOWN HALL MEETING ON WHY IT'S IMPORTANT TO VOTE AND HOW TO VOTE
with Longtime ANCA activists Mourad Topalian and Zareh Sinanyan
BURBANK.- Prior to the presidential elections, the ANCA Burbank
chapter and the ARF Burbank Nigol Aghbalian Gomideh's PR committee
have jointly organized a Town Hall meeting, on why it's important to
vote and how to vote.
The Town Hall meeting will take place on Thursday, November 1, 2012,
at the Burbank Armenian Center located on 75 Santa Anita, Burbank.
ANCA longtime activists Mourad Topalian and Zareh J. Sinanyan will
explain the importance of voting in a democratic society, especially
for the Armenian-American community. They will also elaborate on the
issues both on national and state levels, which will lead our
community during the voting process. The presentation will be both in
English and Armenian.
The Armenian-American community has spared no efforts towards the
recognition of the Armenian Genocide, on developing US-Armenia
relations and on garnering more support for the Republic of Nagorno
Karabakh by US authorities. These are key issues that will direct
community members on how to cast his or her vote. It's clear that
President Obama has breached his promise regarding the recognition of
the Armenian Genocide. Both he and Governor Mitt Romney have declined
to meet the representatives of the Armenian-American community, in
order to hear our concerns.
Therefore at this juncture, each and every Armenian-American vote
gains more importance.
A Q&A period will follow the panelists' discussion and the public is
encouraged to participate.
The Armenian National Committee of America - Burbank advances the
social, economic, cultural and political rights of the area's Armenian
American community and promotes increased Armenian American civic
participation at the grassroots and public policy levels.
