ARMENIAN PRESIDENT HELD A MEETING ON THE ISSUES RELATED TO THE PRELIMINARY INVESTIGATION OF THE CRIMINAL CASES
YEREVAN, OCTOBER 29, ARMENPRESS: Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan
held a meeting on the situation of preliminary investigation of
the criminal cases with the participation of representatives of law
enforcement bodies in Armenian prosecutor's office. As Armenpress was
informed from the presidential press office, President highlighted
all the developments and reforms made in this sphere but at the
same time referred to the negative phenomena which occurs nowadays,
including the negligence or vicious actions of the prosecutors.
"In general, prosecution remains to be in the list of those state
institutions which has some positive results. The evidence is that
international institutions recorded the progress of our country in
the fight against money laundering and trafficking. The activity of
military prosecutor has also improved in some level. Such examples come
to prove that there are still a lot of fair and honest prosecutors who
are devoted to their mission. But at the same time I have to refer to
a priority issue of negligence or vicious actions of some prosecutors"
noted the President.
Serzh Sargsyan referred to the situation of preliminary investigation
of the criminal case and underlined some cases when officials
conducting the investigation had fabricated the proofs, advocated
the criminals and concealed the crime instead of clarifying the
circumstances of the case. President Sargsyan also informed the
presents about the observation which were made and the irregularities
which had been found.
