The damage caused by the ZCMC Tailing Pipe Breakdown in Geghi, Syunik
region, is being calculated, said the minister of nature protection
Aram Harutyunyan to Lragir.am underlining that strict sanctions will
be applied to the owner of the Zangezur combine.
To our observation that this is not the first case when a major company
owner damages the nature but remains unpunished, the minister of nature
said that they will anyway be led by the laws. Relevant punishment
will be applied in accordance to the calculation of the damage.
Recall, in the result of the breakdown the waters of the pipe filled
the Voghji river. According to specialists, it will cause negative
consequences for the quality of water and its fauna. People use the
water for irrigation.
