  • BAKU: 'US'S Position Is Attempt To Gain Love Of Armenian Electorate

'US'S POSITION IS ATTEMPT TO GAIN LOVE OF ARMENIAN ELECTORATE BEFORE ELECTIONS'

MP Jeyhun Osmanli has given an interview to the Azerbaijan newspaper.

The MP touched upon several relevant issues, Gun.Az reported.

Regarding the return of Ramil Safarov, the MP said:

"All of us including myself had little hope for the extradition of
Ramil Safarov until the release of the official information in this
connection. On the one hand, endless pressures of Armenian lobby, on
the other hand, double standards that we faced in the international
arena compelled us not to be so upbeat about the return of Ramil back
    to our country one day.

To be honest, when I heard the news, I was shocked in the positive
sense of the word, and I thought to myself did justice really win so
soon? But when we looked deep inside the issue, we made it clear that
it was the fruit of a heavy and long diplomatic activity.

Today the hysteric reaction made by the Armenian side regarding
this event and Armenian president's summoning an urgent meeting of
the Security Council has proven that the return of Ramil Safarov to
Azerbaijan is bright diplomatic victory of our country and a logical
ending of the prompt, dynamic and thought-out strategy in the foreign
    policy of President Ilham Aliyev."

The MP strictly criticized the US in his interview:

"I wonder how the US, which is considered guilty for the death
of millions of innocent people in Iraq and Afghanistan, dares to
demand explanation from someone. Everyone remembers well that while
intervening to Iraq in 2003, as a pretext, the US gave the presence
of a nuclear weapon in this country and does not even feel a need
    for UN sanctions.

Now the question is, where is the nuclear weapon, where is the evidence
for you pretexts? When will you pay for this before humanity?

How can you invite others to respect the supremacy of law while you
cracked down the UN and international legal system when invading Iraq?

I wonder why the US government, while presenting itself and a guard
of law and crier of justice, doesn't think about the necessity of
demanding explanation from Armenia for killing of small Azerbaijani
children on the frontline by Armenian soldiers.

Similarly, it doesn't consider necessary to be concerned about the
fate of around one million Azerbaijanis who lost their homes as
a result of the Armenian aggression. And why doesn't the Khojaly
genocide, which is one of the first human slaughters in the modern
history and has been recognized by several countries of the world,
shake the hearts of US officials full of "humanism"?

Certainly, the US position in the issue of Ramil Safarov is nothing but
an attempt to gain love of Armenian electorate ahead of presidential
    elections."
