Turkish ambassador to France has sent an official note to the French
foreign ministry demanding to review the issue of inclusion of the
Armenian Genocide topic in French textbooks.

Panorama.am informs, the Turkish ambassador presented a historical
report on the topic attempting to deny the fact of the Genocide. It
is also said in the note that the educational change will have a
negative impact on the Turkish students living in France, as well as
the change will inflame hatred between societies.

In answer to the question of one of Turkish media, France's ministry
of education commented on the topic that France officially recognized
the Armenian Genocide still back in 2001 and considers the inclusion of
the topic in the textbooks natural. It was also said that intellectuals
prepared the books and did it with scientific seriousness.

To recall, by the decision of France's ministry of education, the
Armenian Genocide topic was included in the history and geography
    textbooks of secondary schools.

In the section titled Armenian Genocide in the textbooks, information
is given on the Genocide, the ethnic structure of the Ottoman Empire,
the policy of Taleat Pasha and the nationalist Turks of the time,
the intentional deportation, the privations the people suffered during
the exile and about the Armenians killed before and after 1915.

Some of the textbooks also include maps of the Ottoman Empire, in
which pointers show from which regions and to where Armenians where
deported and where they were mass slaughtered.
